CRISC VOLUNTEERING OPPORTUNITIES

CRISC item writer
Prerequisite– CRISC item writers are asked to follow the CRISC item writing guide (www.isaca.org/itemwriter).
Objective—Item writers may submit an unlimited number of quality questions.
Process— The process is as follows:
Time commitment—While every single question is important and much welcomed, the goal is that each item writer submit ten questions.
It may take up to two hours to write a quality item including good explanations and valid references.
Benefits—item writers receive two CPE credits and $100 for each approved item.
CRISC Quality Assurance Team (QAT) member
Prerequisite—CRISC QAT members must be CRISC certified.
Objective—Approve 150 quality CRISC study questions, answers and explanations for the CRISC QAE and the CRISC RM.
Process– Each CRISC QAT member:
- Submits 10 questions (similar as an item writer with the same benefits)
- Participates in a 2.5-day item review session, scheduled tentatively on Friday, Saturday and Sunday (1/2 day), 20-22 May 2012 at the ISACA International Headquarters in Rolling Meadows, IL. Meeting-related transportation, lodging and meals are covered by ISACA.
- Participates in up to six (6) 1-hour phone calls to review and approve items.
Time commitment— The total time commitment is estimated at approximately 40 – 50 hours over the course of the next 4 months.
Benefits—In their item writing capacity, QAT members receive two CPE credits and $100 for each submitted and approved item. In their review capacity, QAT members earn CPE credits based on actual time they spend reviewing, fine-tuning and approving items.
CRISC Review Manual (RM) Subject Matter Expert (SME) reviewer
Prerequisite—CRISC RM SME reviewers must be CRISC certified.
Objective—To improve on and ensure the continued quality of the CRISC RM.
Process—Reviewers will be assigned to one of the 5 CRISC domains and will primarily review and provide constructive feedback on the chapter covering their assigned domain. Content will be made available digitally and meetings will be held virtually.
Time commitment—The total time commitment is estimated at approximately 40 – 50 hours over the course of the next 5 months.
Benefits—CRISC RM reviewers earn CPE credits based on actual time they spend reviewing, fine-tuning and approving items.
NOTE: An intimate knowledge of The Risk IT Framework (www.isaca.org/riskit) or another risk management framework will be extremely helpful in fulfilling the intended objectives.
